1a Benjamin Maddox II of Charles County MD was Benjamin Sr. of SC:Benjamin lived at “Posey’s Chance” in 1783 adjacent “Hopewell” owned by Prior Posey family.

Benjamin and Mary Maddox on March 3, 1790, sold “Hornfare” and “Posey’s Chance” inherited 1770 from his father Benjamin I. Benjamin appeared with a household of 8 other males with Walter and Henley’s stepson Ignatius Posey (son of Prior) beside him in 1790/2 Abbeville County SC Census. Counting  Henley in MD, Benjamin had at least 10 sons.

Benjamin’s sons in census records: “Henley of Ben” on the 1790 census of Charles County MD; Walter beside Benjamin on 1790 census of Abbeville County, SC; John in household of Benjamin in 1810 Abbeville.
The nephew of Benjamin II, widow of Henley, widow of John, Benjamin Sr., future William’s family in-law, two Benjamin III in-laws, and William were 8 parts of 11 of the “tight” Maddox sequence on 1810 Abbeville. Benjamin III stated on 1860 GA census that he was born in MD. William stated in 1850 AL census that he was born in MD (He died before 1860 census). Chandler stated in 1860 AL census that he was born in MD.
